Below are the volunteers serving on the House Corporation.

Mark Edlestone ’83 – President

Mark Edelstone was initiated into TKE-Nu in Spring 1981. As an undergraduate member, he served as Gramateus during his junior year and Prytanis as a senior. He graduated in 1983 with a BA in Political Economics and received an MBA in Finance with a concentration in Investments from Golden Gate University in 1990. He also received designations as a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Market Technician and Certified Financial Planner. Mark has spent his entire career on Wall Street, with positions ranging from an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and J.P.Morgan, a securities analyst at Morgan Stanley and Prudential Securities, and a portfolio manager at Comprehensive Market Timing, a company he co-founded. Since 1989, Mark has specialized in the semiconductor industry and he currently provides investment banking services for Morgan Stanley. He is also a board member for M/A-COM Technology Solutions. Mark lives in Moraga, CA and has been married to Lori (a fellow Cal grad) since 1984. He has two children (Steven and Emily) and Steven was initiated into TKE-Nu in Fall 2009.

John Phillips ’62 – Treasurer

John Phillips was initiated into TKE-Nu in Fall, 1957. As an undergraduate member he served the Chapter at various times as both social chairman and Histor. He graduated in 1962 with a BS in finance and, after serving two years as an Army officer in Germany, returned to earn in 1966 an MBA at Cal with an emphasis in accounting. John spent his first career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), retiring as a regional managing partner in 1997. During most of that period he headed the Firm’s west coast employee benefits practice and he became licensed as both a CPA and a pension actuary. He was then selected by its board as the first CEO of California CPA ProtectPlus (a health insurance company), retiring from that second career role in 2006. He now serves on a variety of for-profit, not-for-profit and governmental boards and lives with his wife Maryly (also a Cal graduate) in Moraga. He has four adult children (one of whom graduated from Cal in 1986) and six grandchildren.

Steve Schmidt ’90 – Director

Steve Schmidt was initiated into TKE-Nu in Fall 1983. As an undergraduate, he served as the Kitchen Steward and was elected twice to be Hegemon, TKE’s Prospective Member Educator. After graduating from Cal with a B.A. in history and a minor in Chicano-Studies, Steve attained his teaching credential from Chapman University and a M.A. in Adult Education from San Francisco State University. In his 22nd year working in public schools, Steve has made a career of teaching Advanced Placement United States History and has spent years scoring A.P. exams for the College Board. Currently, Steve is in his 15th year at Lowell High School in San Francisco, where he continues to teach Social Studies, history and American Government, serves as the Faculty Representative to Lowell’s Parent Teacher Student Association, and has worked closely with the Lowell Student Association, both as Lowell’s Student Activities Director and Graduation Coordinator.

Anthony Wright ’10 – Advisor

Anthony Wright was initiated at the Nu Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon in April of 2007. As an undergraduate he served as House Manager for 3 ½ years, the duration of his time in TKE. He graduated from Cal with a B.A. in architecture and a minor in city planning and went on to attain his M.S. in Emergency Management from Easter Kentucky University. Anthony has made his career in Disaster Recovery and work’s for the Federal Emergency Management Agency where he spends his time on efforts to rebuild and retrofit communities to be more resilient in the face of disasters. Additionally he serves as a 1st Lieutenant and Squadron Commander in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, or Civil Air Patrol, where he oversees emergency services operations and a robust cadet program. He also serves as the Grand Province Advisor for Tau Kappa Epsilon at the national level, and as a facilitator for TKE’s Regional Leadership Conferences.
